We are actively searching to recruit the patients for our main research projects:
ØCEREBRAL VASOREGULATION IN HYPERTENSION, TRANSIENT ISCHEMIC ATTACKS AND STROKE

Principal Investigator: V. Novak, M.D., Ph.D.
This study includes: 1) Cerebral and brachial blood flow monitoring during hyperventilation, head-up tilt, carotid massage, Valsalva maneuver and cold pressor test. 2) Ultrasound of carotid arteries. 3) Noninvasive 24 hour blood pressure monitoring. 4) 24 hour catecholamines and laboratory 5) High resolution MRI imaging (optional). Reimbursement up to $100.

Inclusion criteria:
1. Healthy men and women , aged 30-65 years, caucassian and african- american
2. Hypertensive patients, aged 30-65 years, caucassian and African-American
3. Transient ischemic attacks/minor stroke patients, aged 30-65 years, Caucasian and African-American
Exclusions: carotid artery stenosis >60%, obesity, diabetes, cardiac and/or any other systemic diseases.
