Biographical Sketch
Dr. Beversdorf received his BA (in biology, minors in computer
science and mathematics)at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana in 1987
and his MD from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana
in 1992. He completed residency programs in medicine and neurology from Preliminary
Medicine, Methodist Hospital of Indiana, Indianapolis, Indiana in 1993 and
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Department of Neurology, Lebanon, New Hampshire
in 1996. He completed his Behavioral Neurology fellowship at the University
of Florida, in 1998, and has been on the faculty of The Ohio State Univrsity
since 1998.
Research
Dr. Beversdorf has active research in noradrenergic modulation
of problem solving ability and applications in autism and cocaine withdrawal,
as well
as problem solving ability in cocaine withdrawal, autism, and mild cognitive
impairment. Functional neuroimaging is an active component of these research
projects, which have received funding from NINDS and NIDA. Current research
also includes development of a microelectrode array for detection of potentials
referable to the cortical columns in patients undergoing placement of subdural
grids for epilepsy surgery evaluation, vocational rehabilitation in autism
spectrum disorder, and the role of prenatal stressors in autism.
