D. Joanne Lynn, M.D.

Deborah Joanne Lynn is Associate Professor at The Ohio State University Department of Neurology, Columbus, OH; Department of Neurology Medical Student Education Director; Staff Neurologist for The Ohio State University Medical Center and The Arthur James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute; and co-Director of the Ohio State University Multiple Sclerosis Center.  She is co-Director of the Psychiatry/Neurology required third year clerkship for medical students and Director of the Neural Science block for the Med 1/2 Integrated Program

Biographical Sketch

Dr. Lynn received her BA from Amherst College, Amherst, Massachusetts in 1980 and her MD from the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio. She completed her residency programs in medicine and neurology at the University of Rochester, Rochester, New York and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Neurology.  She served two years of neuromuscular research fellowship at The Ohio State University.  Dr. Lynn has been on the staff at OSU in the Neuroimmunology Division of the Department of Neurology since 1992.  She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association.

Research

Dr. Lynn has participated in a wide range of clinical trials in the area of neuroimmunologic disorders and, in particular,  disease-modifying agents and symptomatic treatments for Multiple Sclerosis.  She has recently participated in investigations of interferon beta for progressive MS, modafinil for MS fatigue, the combination of methotrexate and interferon for relapsing MS, famprodine for motor fatigue in MS and others.
