J. Layne Moore, MD is Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology
at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and
Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at The Ohio State University
College of Pharmacy
He serves as the Director of the Electroencephalography Laboratory, the
Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and the Division of Epilepsy. Doctor Moore holds
the Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Professorship for Research in Epilepsy.
He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Moore grew up in Ada, Ohio where his parents taught at Ohio
Northern University. He earned a B.S. from Ohio Northern University with honors
in dual majors of Biology and Psychology in 1982. He received his medical training
from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio in 1987 and
was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
His internship in Internal Medicine at West Virginia University Hospitals
in Morgantown West Virginia and Residency in Neurology at The University of
Cincinnati were completed in 1991.
Doctor Moore completed two Fellowships in Electroencephalography and Epilepsy
at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota by 1993. He joined the Department
of Neurology in 1993.
He completed his Masters Degree in Public Health at The Ohio State University
College of Public Health.
Dr. Moore is interested in understanding the interactions between primary
care providers and specialists in referrals of patients. He also has interests
along with Dr. James W. McAuley in understanding the complex interplay of women's
hormones on control of seizures. He has research interests in understanding
mechanisms of pharmacoresistance in epilepsy patients
